In early February, it was announced that the Bachelorette would not be returning this upcoming summer. While ABC has not officially announced when it will be returning nor why this decision was made, Bachelor Nation believes that it will more than likely make its comeback in the year 2026.

The Bachelorette is an American reality television dating series based on The Bachelor. It offers the opportunity for one woman (who was previously rejected by the former bachelor) to choose her life partner out of an estimated twenty-five men in six to nine weeks. While most bachelorettes end up engaged at the end of their season, only three have ended up getting married to the man they give their final rose to.
This Bachelor spinoff has not skipped a season since 2007. It has also taken many new forms since it first aired in 2003, Bachelor in Paradise, The Golden Bachelor, and The Golden Bachelorette. Devoted fans of the Bachelor franchise, although disappointed with this pause, will still be booked and busy with the return of Bachelor in Paradise this year.
Rachel Recchia who is a former bachelorette and was “there for the right reasons” although also breaking off her engagement with the man who received her final rose, has recently commented on the show’s announcement. While on Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast, Rachel stated, “I heard the lead was decided, and it made sense to me who they picked.” It seems like ABC had planned to air season 22 due to choosing their next bachelorette.
So what makes this, “the most dramatic season of the bachelorette yet”? Another reality television show is said to be taking its place. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is said to be returning for a second season and airing on ABC. Jesse Palmer said it best, “Take a moment. Say your goodbyes.”
