Graduation is right around the corner for UAFS students. Here is what you will need to know to be prepared to walk across the stage.
The Fall 2023 commencement is slowly approaching. Set for December 16, there will be two ceremonies held, one at 10 a.m. and the other at 1 p.m. The morning ceremony will be for the College of Business and Industry and the College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences. The afternoon ceremony is meant for the College of Arts and Sciences.
Prior to the big day, you will need to purchase your cap and gown and plan graduation pictures. There are various photographers in the area who can capture your graduation photos. There’s still plenty of time to schedule your photoshoot before graduation.
Cap and gown purchases can be made until November 17th. To make this purchase, you can visit Heff Jones. If you are graduating with a master’s or bachelor's, you will need to wear a black cap and gown. With an associate degree, you will purchase a navy cap and gown.
Starting on December 11th through the 15th, you can pick up a reader card in the Registrar's Office. You want to keep this handy as you will give this to the reader once you make your way to the stage. The reader will then announce your name and degree as you receive your diploma.
If desired, the cap can be decorated. It must be appropriate for graduation with no inappropriate images or offensive language. Having trouble with inspiration? Pinterest is a great place to start.
Before the ceremony, graduates must show up 45 minutes prior. You will meet in the Echols building next to the Stubblefield arena, where you will find your college. Don’t be late!
Before graduation, make sure you have the perfect outfit on hand. You want to feel your best, so look your best.
Congratulations to our Fall 2023 class!
