It’s that time of the year again where there is an abundance of Christmas light shows to choose from. Christmas light browsing is a time-honored tradition, but it can be overwhelming trying to ensure that we all see the best ones for the best price. That’s why we’ve put together a list of the must-see light shows this December!
1. Creekmore Park Holiday Express
We start our list off with the most popular, the closest to UAFS, and a completely free light show in Fort Smith! This show has been a Fort Smith tradition since 1949, but this year includes an extra week of joy and even more lights. Enjoy a free train ride through the park from 5:30-8:30 p.m. every night except for Sunday!
2. Christmas Winter Wonderland
The Fort Smith Christmas Winter Wonderland is an indoor attraction that, not only features plenty of light displays, but also photos with Santa, stories with Mrs. Clause, and crafts with elves! The Wonderland also has a train ride, theater Christmas movies, cookies and hot cocoa, and many of our favorite childhood winter characters. Let your inner child free, with a small fee of $5 for adults!
3. Stewart Family Christmas Light Display
This Fayetteville family light show is a short drive away and a must-see for everyone! The show includes over 6,000,000 lights and is open to the public Sunday-Thursday: 5 p.m.-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday: 4:30 p.m.-11 p.m. Along with the lights, the attraction features a train ride, camel and pony rides, and several other fun things to do!
4. Garden of Lights - Muskogee, Ok.
This one is perfect for a little road trip! The drive is worth the sights for this beautiful, light- covered scene. Admission is $10 per car and opens at 5:30 every night! There are concessions available in the North Pavilion, where you can get hot cocoa, popcorn, and a sweet treat. This attraction also offers hayrides for large groups!
5. Rhema Christmas Lights
This attraction is also a further drive, located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. However, this attraction is worth the drive, as it offers a free event of millions of beautiful lights across the church campus. It has deep religious values and offers both open top carriage and private carriage rides! Their concessions include hot chocolate, apple cider, lattes, and a variety of sweets!
