iPhone 14 Pro Review

On September 7, 2022, Apple held its annual event highlighting the release of its iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models. Focusing on the 14-pro design, this upgrade includes many new features such as a New Dynamic Island, groundbreaking safety features as well as a 48Mp camera. All being powered by their latest A16 Bionic chip.

The focal point of the 14-Pro is the introduction of the Dynamic Island. This allows users to seamlessly access multiple activities, notifications, and alerts in one place without disrupting what you are already viewing on your iPhone. I found this feature very useful. While listening to music you are also capable of setting a timer and seeing both in your Island making it easier to go between the two apps simultaneously, unlike past iPhones.

The 14 Pro also contains new innovative safety technology capable of detecting when you have been in a severe car accident and dialing 911 for you. It does this by measuring sudden speed changes, abrupt changes in direction, cabin pressure changes, and loud sound levels of impact, and compares it to over one million of real-world crash data to determine if you have been in a severe accident.

This model also has the ability to text emergency services via satellite if you are without Wi-Fi or cell service, as long as you are outside and have a clear view of the sky. Apple’s upgrades in their safety technology as well as their access to emergency services made me eager to buy this model in particular. Hopefully, you will not need to use these features, but it is pleasant knowing they are there.

The camera features include a redesigned 48- megapixel camera capable of using 4x the resolution in ProRaw. Although the camera is useful to people who understand these changes, I have not seen any major differences in comparison to past models.

Overall, the 14-Pro and 14 Pro-Max new features are very enjoyable and help separate them from other iPhones making this one of my favorite releases to date.
